FIRA International

For over half a century, FIRA has driven the need for higher standards through testing, research and innovation for the furniture and allied industries. New and better materials, improved processes and appropriate standards have been developed to enhance the quality of furniture and assist manufacturers and retailers to become more competitive. A non-government funded organisation, FIRA is supported by all sections of the industry through the Furniture Industry Research Association, ensuring ongoing research programmes which bring benefits to all. With unrivalled support from across the whole industry, FIRA also has the influence and capability to help shape legislation and regulations. FIRA is recognised internationally as being at the leading edge, with world-class technology and unparalleled industry knowledge.

Crafts Council Of Ireland

The Crafts Council of Ireland (CCoI) is the national design and economic development organisation for the craft industry in Ireland. Its activities are funded by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment via Enterprise Ireland.

CCoI curently holds 1305 members in its register of craft enterprise. See also the Craft Search facility where you can find registered makers by name, county, product and discipline as well as samples of their work.

The Craft Industry
The major sectors within the Irish craft industry are pottery, glass, jewellery, textiles (particularly knitwear) and furniture. Irish craft businesses are characteristically small in scale and are geographically widespread, but taken nationally the industry is a significant employer, while also providing viable, sustainable enterprises in all areas, including those isolated rural communities ignored as unsuitable by other manufacturing sectors. Irish Furniture Fair Autumn

The Autumn Furniture & Home Accessories Fair 2007 now in its 9th year, is the biggest furniture and interiors accessory trade show for the pre Christmas buying season. A much awaited sequel hot on the heels of our Spring Furniture & Home Accessories fair with over 100 exhibitors, covering 8,000 square metres in the RDS Dublin. It provides new opportunities to refresh your ideas and rejuvenate your product range in time for the Pre Christmas buying season.
